Dr. Takehiko Kitamori, Daicel Endowed Chair Professor

         Biography

Dr. Takehiko Kitamori received his Ph.D. in Engineering in 1989 from The University of Tokyo. He worked for Hitachi as a nuclear engineer, and moved to The University of Tokyo as professor of analytical chemistry. He served as Vice President after Dean of School of Engineering. In 2020, he was invited to NTHU as Yushan Sholar and Professor. Also, he has been serving as Director General of the Kanagawa Institute of Industrial Science and Technology since 2023. He founded his startup company IMT-Taiwan Co. Ltd. from NTHU, and launched an international university-industry collaboration with Daicel which is Japanese chemical company in 2021. A world first real chemical plant based on largescale serial-parallel microfluidic device system was completed, exported, and installed from Taiwan to Daicel in 2026. He has authored over 350 journal papers and been awarded by not a few honors including International Academician of Swedish Royal Academy of Science.
