Abstract

Additive manufacturing is a process by adding material bottom-up. This approach has its advantages of building complex component, creating customized products and saving raw materials. Especially additive manufactured metals. It has its potential for critical loading application such as automobile, consumer electronics, aerospace, military and architectural. However, the mechanical properties still remain unclear compared to the conventional manufacturing mechanism. In this presentation, current themes and future directions of additively manufactured metal will be briefly reviewed. The key knowledge gaps and some of the possible solutions will be proposed
